As a tarot reader, isn't it exciting when you see beautiful tarot cards in a movie? Through many years, I have collected scenes in which tarot has appeared. It is a great tool to make a twist of the plots or keep the narrative going.
Western series and movies
0. Mi Diario, episode 1
Quique Tang is a Chinese student who lives in Madrid, he dreams about finding the Mr. Right. One day he discovers a parlour, and decides to have a reading. The tarot reader, portrayed by Samuel Vivas, reveals the man he is about to encounter. This webserie is the capstone for my master degree, please share and show me some support if you like it!!! The deck used is Tarot de Marseille by Pablo Robledo.
1 Mad Men Season 2, Episode 12
Don uses the Rider Waite deck to do a Celtic cross spread for her friend.
2. Buffy the Vampire Slayer, S4.E22
These tarot cards are adapted from the Rider Waite deck, and appears in the dream of Buffy while finding the original slayer.
3. Charmed Season 4 & Season 7
In season 4, Paige uses a Visconti deck to do reading for the marriage of Phoebe and Cole. In season 7 Phoebe is trapped in a time loop and uses the tarot cards to escape.
4. Night of the Eagle (aka Burn, Witch, Burn)
The wicked witch Flora uses spells to destroy the wife of Norman who is also a witch. Tarocco piemontesi is used in the movie.
5. James Bond 007: Live and Let Die
Tarot cards designed by Fergus Hall, especially for the movie. The virgen witch reads for Jame Bond, who then falls in love with him.
6. Supernatural
Season 1, Episode 12
The faith healer's wife uses the death card to bind the death in order to control him to do her bidding. The card is probably adapted from the Visconti tarot.
Season 4, Episode 12
A magician uses tarot magic to kill people in order to complete the show. The RWS is used.
7. The Red Violin
A fortune teller reads cards for the wife of a violin crafter, her blood is painted on the violin which gives it great power. The cards individually show the life times of the violin. The cards are similar to the type one Marseille Tarot.
8. Penny Dreadful Season 2 Episode 3
The beautiful purple deck is used by the witch Vanessa.
9. Witches of the East End
Season 1 Episode 1
Wendy reads cards for her sister Joanna. The deck is a hybrid of RWS image and the border of Medieval Scanpini deck.
Season 2, Episode 10
The Mexican witch Eva asks the owner of a Voodoo shop for a tarot reading. Is it adapted from the Marseille Tarot.
10 Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell Season 1, Episode 1
The servant of Norrell foretells the arrival of a messenger. The cards are adapted from the Marseille Tarot, probably type one.
11 La belle et la bête (Beauty and Beast French version)
The French witch Astrid reads fortune for treasure hunters in a tavern, using the Lombardy tarot.
12. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows
Sherlock uses the Oswald Wirth tarot to give hints about the brother of the Gypsy witch.
13. Versailles season 2 episode 1
Madame Agathe uses Pierre Madenie tarot to predict the downfall of Louis 14th. The Labyrinth card is self made.
14. Pretty Little Liars Season 1, Episode 6
Spencer comes to a fortune teller at a party and discovers a message left by A on the Visconti death card.
15. The Originals
Season 3, episode 7
Vincent uses tarot to reveal the fact that Davina killed fellow witches. The deck appears to be the Claude Burdel tarot restored by Llewellyn publications.
Season 3, episode 11
The witch Ariane uses tarot cards to test the loyalty of the vampires in the Strix.
Season 4, episode 6
Vincent uses tarot to identify the Hollow.
Tarot cards also appear in season 5, episode 2 and 4.
16. Jim henson's the storyteller (recommended by Masa Kuzuki)
The storyteller reads fortune for the princess. The deck is modified from the Tarot de Marseille produced by Grimaud, but the serie renamed the cards. The Force is Princess, The Empress is Queen, The Emperor is King and an additional card the Hedgehog.
16. Malatesta's Carnival of Blood
The tarot cards appear at the beginning of the scene in a parlour. The deck is the Grimaud Tarot de Marseille.
17. Cléo de 5 à 7
At the beginning of the movie, both Le Grand Jeu Lenormand and Grimaud Tarot de Marseille appear. If you understand French and studying Le Gran Jeu, maybe you can tell if the reader does it right.
18. Scoop
Hugh Jackman portrays a handsome Tarot killer, and the journalist who is undercover discovers a tarot deck in the killer's basement. The card le Valet de Épée is on the top, the deck appears to be the Grimaud Tarot de Marseille.
19. American Gods Season 2, episode 1.
The gods gathers together in front of a fortune telling machine, the tarot cards in it are from 1JJ Swiss Tarot.
20. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Season 2, episode 4
Lilith disguises herself as a tarot reader, she reads cards for Zelda, Sabrina, etc. The cards are adapted from the RWS.

A Gypsy friend reads cards for Carmen using Spanish playing cards. (Baraja española)

The female magician reads cards for a circus fellow. Deck: RWS

Dr. Terror uses the Grimaud Tarot de Marseille to read for his travel companions on the train.
24. The Love Witch
In this movie, RWS tarot cards have appeared several times. Here is when Elaine uses cards to predict the death of Wayne.
25. American Horror Story Season 3, episode 6
One witch of the coven uses tarot to predict the death of the Axeman using Le Grand Tarot Belline.
26. Criminal Minds Season 3, episode 20
The police discovers a tarot card at the crime scene.

A Japanese female tarot reader reads daily fortune for a Japanese warrior. the cards are from 1850s Milanese Tarot.
2. Cold Case（冷案）, episode 1 [China]
A female police officer pretends to be a tarot reader on the street in order to catch a criminal. Deck is radiant RWS Chinese version.
3. The Chronicles of Town Called Jian（茧镇奇缘）episode 1 and 4 [China]
A female detective just returned China from Europe, she also uses tarot to solve crimes. In the first episode she reads cards for her friend and in the fourth for the servants in her house. The deck is the Universal Tarot de Marseille by Lo Scarabeo.
4. At Eighteen, episode 8 [South Korea]
A bunch of friends get together to read cards about their relationships. The cards are from Conver Tarot French National Library reproduction.
5. I will find you a better home（安家）episode 5. [China]
A tarot reading at a bar, using RWS tarot.
6. Keiji ZERO 刑事ゼロ episode 9 [Japan]
The murderer uses the images of Marseille Tarot and RWS tarot as references to put the corps as the cards.
